So here I am, 40-years into a security career which started as a young US Army Counterintelligence Special Agent, then after my retirement, a 15-year corporate security career and the last six years consulting to multiple organizations to assess and improve their corporate security programs. Now it’s time to give back, so I figured what better way to give back than to volunteer. Saying that, I joined InfraGard and submitted my credentials for National Sector Chief for the Commercial Facilities sector – and guess what…

So. as the new National Sector Chief, I have three years to work with and learn from representatives of   eight Commercial Facilities sectors listed below to support and grow our InfraGard team and support its mission.

The mission of the InfraGard Program to foster collaboration, education and information exchange to enhance America’s ability to comprehensively address and eliminate threats to its critical infrastructure through a robust private-public partnership. As InfraGard brings together representatives from the private and public sectors to help protect and ensure the security and resilience of our Nation’s critical infrastructure – both virtual and physical – from attacks by terrorists and criminals and disasters, I am excited about what the next three years holds in store.

The eight separate sectors of the Commercial Facilities group are:

   1. Entertainment and Media (e.g., motion picture studios, broadcast media).

   2. Gaming (e.g., casinos);

   3. Lodging (e.g., hotels, motels, conference centers); Outdoor

   4. Events (e.g., theme and amusement parks, fairs, campgrounds, parades).

   5. Public Assembly (e.g., arenas, stadiums, aquariums, zoos, museums, convention centers).

   6. Real Estate (e.g., office and apartment buildings, condominiums, mixed use facilities, self-storage).

   7. Retail (e.g., retail centers and districts, shopping malls).

   8. Sports Leagues (e.g., professional sports leagues and federations).
